This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you use tryjey.com, the Jey application and related services (together, “Jey” or the “Service”). “We”, “us” and “our” mean Jey.
If you follow a link from Jey to another site, that site’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.
1. What we collect
What you give us
- Waitlist: your email address, if you join the waitlist, and which button you used to join.
- Account details: your name and email address, and your password or the details your sign-in provider shares with us if you sign in with Google.
- Workspace content: the projects, keywords, notes and settings you enter into Jey.
- Billing details: your plan and billing history. Card details go straight to our payment provider; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact us or reply to our emails.
What we collect automatically
- Log data: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, when you visit, how long you stay and the page that referred you.
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, and how you use the Service.
- Error reports: technical details about what went wrong if something breaks while you use Jey.
- Cookies, described below.
Public posts
Posts and comments that people have made public on social platforms can include personal information, such as names, usernames and what they wrote. We handle this content only to provide the Service, and we never sell it. If you wrote a post that appears in Jey and want it removed, write to uddipta@tryjey.com.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide and run the Service, and keep your account secure;
- tell you when Jey opens, if you joined the waitlist;
- bill you and send receipts;
- answer your questions and support you;
- send you service messages, such as sign-in codes, billing notices and changes to our terms;
- send you product news, which you can opt out of at any time with the unsubscribe link in any such email;
- understand how Jey is used, so we can fix problems and improve it;
- prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service;
- meet legal obligations and handle disputes.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal information only:
- with service providers that help us run Jey, such as hosting, sign-in, payments, email delivery, analytics and error logging. They may use it only to provide their services to us;
- when the law requires it, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Jey, our users or others;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information;
- with your permission.
4. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies that keep you signed in and remember your settings. The Service does not work without them.
- Analytics cookies that tell us, in aggregate, how Jey is used.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
5. How long we keep it
- Waitlist email: until Jey opens to you, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Account information and workspace content: for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, or ask us to, we delete your personal information within 30 days, unless we have to keep some of it to meet a legal, accounting or tax obligation or to resolve a dispute.
- Log data and error reports: for a limited period, then deleted or anonymized.
- Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
6. Security
We protect personal information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit and limited access for our team. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Choose a strong password and keep it private.
7. Where your data is processed
We and our service providers store and process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. Those countries may not have the same data-protection laws as yours. Where the law requires it, we use recognized safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
- delete it;
- receive a copy of it in a portable format;
- object to, or restrict, certain processing;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting what we did before;
- opt out of marketing emails at any time;
- complain to your data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, write to uddipta@tryjey.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
For people in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: Jey is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Our legal bases are performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure, improving it and telling you about it), consent (marketing emails) and compliance with the law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in Jey.
